We’re excited to advise the new Bank of Melbourne opened its doors to Victoria in July 2011. Our name in Victoria has changed, but our commitment to you stays the same. You still enjoy the same high level of banking service, now with a local focus. Our Victorian branches, corporate banking centres and ATMs are now Bank of Melbourne. Here is a brief summary about Bank of Melbourne.

  • Bank of Melbourne has its own local Chief Executive, management team and advisory board based in Victoria
  • Over the next five years we’ll be creating up to 800 new jobs and growing to over 100 branches & corporate banking centres, and around 300 ATMs across Victoria
  • We’ve established a dedicated Bank of Melbourne call centre
  • St.George customers in Victoria continue to receive the great products and services you’ve come to expect from St.George plus a whole lot more – all from Bank of Melbourne. See the FAQs we’ve prepared for our Victorian customers.
  • Bank of Melbourne is part of the largest regional banking network in Australia – comprising St.George, BankSA and now Bank of Melbourne:
  • Bank of Melbourne customers get the same service at a St.George or BankSA branch as if they were customers of those brands
  • Bank of Melbourne customers continue to have access to St.George, BankSA and Westpac ATMs – providing fee-free access to one of the largest national ATM networks in Australia
  • St.George customers residing outside of Victoria will continue as St.George customers. St.George continue to operate in NSW, QLD and WA providing the friendly service and great products for which we are renowned.

FAQs for our Victorian customers

  1. Have St.George branches outside Victoria changed?

    No. The change from St.George to Bank of Melbourne is only in Victoria.

  2. How does this effect to my Victorian St.George branch?

    Victorian St.George branches have transitioned to Bank of Melbourne. You’ll still be able to transact at your local branch and enjoy the benefits Bank of Melbourne will bring to your local neighbourhood.

  3. Have my accounts changed?

    Your accounts and account numbers have not changed. Additionally, any automatic transfer arrangements you have set-up have been retained. Over the next 12 months, your cards, cheque books, etc. will be reissued as Bank of Melbourne.

  4. Will my account/PIN change?

    No. These will stay the same.

  5. What about my loan arrangements? Will the current terms and conditions continue to apply?

    Yes. Your current arrangements will continue on the same terms.

  6. What will happen to St.George ATMs?

    As part of the transition, all Victorian St.George ATMs have become Bank of Melbourne ATMs. This update has no impact on the way you bank. Over the next 5 years, Bank of Melbourne will be growing to over 100 branches and corporate banking centres and 300 ATMs across Victoria.

  7. Will Bank of Melbourne customers be charged an ATM operator fee to use St.George, BankSA and Westpac ATMs?

    No.
