Who can apply for DIY Super Direct Saver?

  • Applicants must be Australian residents
  • The account must be opened in a personal superannuation, family or individual trust name
  • You must have formalised trust deeds in the name of the account, outlining the authorised trustees of the entity
  • You must have a linked everyday banking account in the same name and capacity of the DIY Super Direct Saver Account

How do I apply for DIY Super Direct Saver?

What documents to I need to provide when applying for DIY Super Direct Saver?

Along with your DIY Super Direct Saver application, you need to supply us with a certified copy of your Trust Deed outlining your nominated trustees.

For security reasons, if you link your DIY Super Direct Saver to an everyday banking account at an Australian financial Institution other than St George, we require proof that the linked everyday banking account belongs to you.

To provide proof of ownership:

  1. Attach a copy of your linked everyday banking account statement (less than 6 months old). The name and address shown on the statement must match the details provided on your DIY Super Direct Saver application.

    If the address on the statement is not the same as the home address please also provide a copy of either a driver’s licence, a utility bill, a rate’s notice or an ATO notice that shows the same details as the DIY Super Direct Saver. (Please note that if you provide an original, it will not be returned.)


  2. Send to St.George Processing, PO BOX 1101, PARRAMATTA, NSW 2124

Once we receive the proof of ownership, your DIY Super Direct Saver will be linked to your everyday banking account within 2 business days.

How do I access my money in my DIY Super Direct Saver?

You need to link an everyday banking account to your DIY Super Direct Saver. You can then access your money by making Internet and Phone Banking transfers from your DIY Super Direct Saver to your linked everyday banking account.

What accounts can I link to my DIY Super Direct Saver?

You must link an everyday banking account from an Australian financial institution to your DIY Super Direct Saver. The linked everyday banking account must be in the same name/s as your DIY Super Direct Saver.

(The linked account can also be referred to as your nominated account.)

Link to a St.George everyday banking account.

  • If you are linking your DIY Super Direct Saver to a St.George everyday banking account, your DIY Super Direct Saver will provide instant access to your money, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week^.
  • A St.George everyday banking account will be linked to your DIY Direct Saver within 2 business days of us receiving your DIY Super Direct Saver application.

Link to an everyday banking account with another Australian financial institution.

  • If you are linking your DIY Super Direct Saver to a non-St George everyday banking account, transferred funds are available on the next business day (when the transfer is made before 3.30pm on a business day)
  • For security reasons, prior to linking your non-St.George account to your DIY Super Direct Saver, we require proof that the linked everyday banking account belongs to you. Once we receive your completed Proof of Account Ownership, your everyday banking account will be linked within 2 business days.

^ Access to your money is subject to systems availability and maintenance.

How do I deposit money from my DIY Super Direct Saver?

Using Internet or Phone Banking, you may transfer money from any account into your DIY Super Direct Saver.

We will transfer the first deposit on your behalf within 2 business days of your account being opened. Specify the opening deposit amount in your DIY Super Direct Saver application and we will transfer this amount from your linked everyday banking account to your DIY Super Direct Saver.

How do I withdraw money from my DIY Super Direct Saver?

To withdraw money from your DIY Super Direct Saver, you must have it linked to your everyday banking account. Use Internet or Phone Banking to transfer money from your DIY Super Direct Saver to your linked everyday banking account and then withdraw funds from there.

For security reasons:

  • Transfers from your DIY Super Direct Saver may only be made to your linked everyday banking account
  • You cannot withdraw money from your DIY Super Direct Saver until your DIY Super Direct Saver is linked to an everyday banking account

Transfers can only be initiated to you; St.George staff cannot make transfers on your behalf.

How do I set up an Automatic Savings Plan?

  • Specify on your DIY Super Direct Saver application how often you would like to save and what regular amount you would like to save. (For example, $100 every week)
  • Complete the DIY Super Direct Saver Automatic Savings Plan form, and fax or mail it back using the address at the top of the form or apply over the phone by calling 1300 30 10 20 8am – 9pm (Sydney Time), 7 days.

Can I link more than one bank account to my DIY Super Direct Saver?

Yes, you can link up to 15 separate DIY Super Direct Saver accounts to your everyday banking account, as long as they are in the same name/s.
