 How do I notify the bank?

The Bank can be notified by either:

Attending your nearest St George branch with Proof of Death and Will (if applicable)

Contact Estates Management directly with Proof of Death

Please note: notification cannot be taken over the phone.

 What is acceptable Proof of Death?

  • Death Certificate,
  • Funeral Account,
  • Medical Certificate,
  • Probate or Letters of Administration,
  • Disposal of Body Certificate,
  • Coroner's Report (Newspaper clippings are not acceptable)

 Can Estate expenses be paid?

Yes the Bank can authorise payment of valid estate expenses upon request from all of the Executor/s or Next of Kin (if no will) and production of an invoice. These payments can be made at any branch and the Bank Cheque fee is waived for this service.
