You receive a guaranteed rate of exchange and depending on the Forward contract you choose, you have the opportunity to benefit from favourable exchange rate movements.*

What are Tactical Forwards?

The Tactical Forward range of Foreign Exchange Contracts are designed to assist you in hedging your foreign exchange risk. Depending on your preference as to the structure of the hedge, you have the opportunity to benefit from any favourable exchange rate movements, while being comfortable in the knowledge that you have a guaranteed rate of exchange.

The Foreign Exchange Tactical Forwards Range has four alternatives:

Participating Forward

You receive a guaranteed exchange rate (Contract Rate) on a set date, while allowing for the opportunity to participate in favourable exchange rate movements, provided a certain level (Trigger Rate) is not reached during the life of your contract.

If at any time the Trigger Rate is touched, the original Contract rate will apply to the deal.

Reward Forward

Offers a guaranteed exchange rate (Contract Rate) on a set date, while also giving you the opportunity to participate in favourable exchange rate movements, provided a certain level (Trigger Rate) is reached during the life of your contract.

If the Trigger Rate remains untouched, the original Contract Rate will apply to the deal.

Cylinder Forward

Your best and worst case scenarios are known up front, so you can effectively contain your risk. This is achieved by offering cover at guaranteed upper and lower exchange rates, known as floor and ceiling rates.

Reset Forward

Offers cover at a guaranteed exchange rate (Contract Rate) while also giving you the opportunity to participate in favourable exchange rate movements, provided a certain level (Trigger Rate) is not reached during the life of the contract.

The Reset Contract Rate will alway be placed at a more favourable level than the original Contract Rate.
