How to apply for a credit card

Who can apply for a credit card

To be eligible for this you must be 18 years or older, and also a permanent Australian resident.

Information you'll need to complete your Application

• Your driver's licence number (if any) for each applicant
• Weekly income (after tax) details for each applicant
• Details of your assets, savings or investments
• The repayment amounts and balances owing on any liabilities (including credit cards, store accounts, etc.)

If you are self-employed you will also need recent tax information.

Here's what to expect

• 10 to 15 minutes to complete your application
• Once submitted, you will receive an immediate response indicating the application outcome (subject to system availability)
• Existing St.George customers can use St.George Internet Banking to save time when filling out an application
• If you don’t have all the information you need you can save a partially completed application and return to it, within 30 days, by clicking on the Save/Exit button

We can keep you posted on the status of your application. It’s as easy as logging on to Internet banking or giving us your email address or mobile number and we’ll send you a FREE email or SMS to keep you updated throughout the process.

Final approval depends on

• Your agreement to the Privacy Act and other agreements
• Our verification of the details you have provided including a credit check on each applicant
• Your ability to provide St.George with further information, if necessary
