Secure Online Shopping – all the convenience without the concern

With Secure Online Shopping, you can be confident that the purchases and payments you make on the Internet are safe and secure. You can have peace of mind whenever you use a St.George MasterCard, VISA Credit card or VISA Debit card.

To take advantage of either VISA's "Verified by VISA" or "MasterCard® SecureCode™" you need to be registered for Internet Banking. Both services are available free of charge.

Verified by VISA and MasterCard SecureCode are cutting edge, secure online shopping services that work with St.George Bank to validate your transaction with a password. It acts the same way as using a PIN or signature when you make an over the counter purchase. This is to ensure that it really is you making the purchase.

To start using Verified by VISA or MasterCard SecureCode, you need to be registered for St.George Internet Banking. Once you’ve registered for Internet Banking and set up an Internet Banking password, you’re ready to use Secure Online Shopping.

How to use Secure Online Shopping

When you are registered, every time you select the "buy" button on a website that displays the Verified by VISA or MasterCard SecureCode logo, a St.George screen will appear.

On this screen, you will also see your Personal Assurance Message (PAM). This is a message you can personalise within Internet Banking so you can shop with confidence.

After checking that this screen displays the correct PAM, all you need to do is enter your correct Internet Banking password, which is also your Secure Online Shopping password. The transaction will then be validated to give you complete confidence the purchase was secure.
