Split your bills, not your friends

Have you recently paid for shared expenses like concert tickets, a wedding gift or a holiday between friends or family? Or perhaps you need to split household bills with your flatmates?

Use Expense Splitter in the Mobile Banking App to help keep track of what your owed and who's paid you back so you’re not left out of pocket.

How does it work?

Select the transactions you’d like to split

Step 1. 
Open Expense Splitter

Log on to the app, and from your account list select the transaction you'd like to split and select 'Expense Splitter'. Alternatively you can tap the Services menu after you've logged onto the app and find 'Expense Splitter'.

Add the friends who owe you

Step 2.
Create your group expense

Give your expense a name, then select or enter any additional transactions you'd like to split with the group.

Create an SMS to send to your friends

Step 3. 
Split with your friends or family

You can either add them from your contact list or enter their name and mobile number separately. Then choose how you’d like to expense to be split - equally or by nominating a certain amount.

Keep track of who's paid you back

Step 4.
Track who’s paid you back

Send an SMS to friends to let them know how much they owe with a pre populated SMS*. When you receive money from a friend go into Expense Splitter, tap the friends name to update.

Not a St.George customer?

Open a bank account, register for Internet Banking and download the St.George App to start using Expense Splitter.

*Normal SMS and data roaming charges apply.

Any customer who has the latest version of the St.George Mobile Banking App can use Expense Splitter.

Your phone will need SMS capability to create and send SMS messages.
