Natural Disaster Relief
It’s only once the dust has settled that the true impact of a disaster is realised.
That’s why St.George supports the Natural Disaster Recovery Fund1 to help Australian communities recovering from natural disasters.
Announcing our 2015 Natural Disaster Recovery Grant Recipients
We are delighted that this year, our Natural Disaster Recovery Fund will fund $211,877 in grants to 25 local community projects supporting recovery projects in the South Australian regions impacted by the January bushfires, Queensland and Northern Territory regions impacted by Cyclones Marcia and Lam and New South Wales communities impacted by storms in April.
Projects we are supporting range from disaster preparedness workshops and local business toolbox resources, rejuvenating a community nature trail, installation of necessary emergency announcement systems for more effective disaster communications, through to initiatives that rebuild the affected community’s wellbeing.
