How to apply for sponsorship

St.George has developed a set of sponsorship guidelines to help us evaluate the sponsorship proposals we receive. While we like to help as many groups as possible, sponsorships that do not meet our guidelines are not generally considered.

Note: If your request is of a charitable or philanthropic nature focusing on children, please direct your query to the St.George Foundation

St.George Bank Sponsorship Guidelines

Each sponsorship proposal will be evaluated against the following criteria:

  • Brand fit
  • Target market fit
  • Brand sponsorship awareness potential
    • Ability to publicise our association beyond those that attend the events
    • Major sponsorship status
    • Including sustainability and length of event
  • Allow us to create opportunities for our business divisions
    • Retail customers
    • Corporate and Business banking
    • High wealth customers
    • Sponsor initiated opportunities – databases and local area marketing
  • St.George Foundation involvement
  • Staff engagement

We are not able to consider sponsorship request for any of the following:

  • Sponsorship of organisations linked to contentious issues (for example, political parties; those driven by particularly divisive social issues, etc)
  • Religious organisations
  • Beauty pageants
  • Motor racing
  • Events sponsored by competitors
  • International events
  • Individual athletes/entertainers
  • St.George staff or relatives/friends as individual or teams

Assessment Process

When you apply, the Sponsorship Management team reviews your request. Any locally based sponsorships will be referred to the Marketing and Sales Support Manager for assessment. We’ll respond to all requests by mail.
