Chief Customer Engagement Officer, Consumer Banking
Ross was appointed General Manager, St.George Bank in 2016, and leads the bank’s retail operations across Australia.
In June 2020, in addition to his responsibilities leading St.George Bank, Ross was appointed Chief Customer Engagement Officer, Consumer Banking at Westpac Group. This expanded role sees Ross lead a team of more than 9,500 employees who deliver banking services across Westpac Group’s four consumer banking brands – Westpac, BankSA, Bank of Melbourne and St.George Bank. The Consumer Banking Customer Engagement group operates branch-based, telephone and virtual banking channels and serves more than 9 million Australian customers and households.
During his career at Westpac Group spanning more than 20 years, Ross has held a number of executive roles, leading large teams and successfully creating cultures where people are supported to deliver their best, whilst optimising processes and investment to generate positive customer and performance outcomes.
Prior to being appointed General Manager, St.George Bank, Ross was General Manager, HR for the Westpac Group’s Australian and New Zealand retail banking operations.
In 2020 he was named a Governor of St.George Foundation and sits on the St.George Foundation Board.
Ross is a recognised Inclusion & Diversity leader in Australia and is on the board of Equality Australia, the nation’s first national legal advocacy and campaigning organisation dedicated to achieving equality for LGBTQI+ people.
He is among the Boss - Deloitte LGBTI Top 50 leaders and was named recipient of the Dave Ulrich HR Leader Award in 2012.
Ross completed the Senior Executive Program at the London Business School in 2018 and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a fellow of the Australian Human Resources Institute.
