General Manager - St.George Retail Banking
Ross has over 20 years’ financial services experience and was at the forefront during the merger with Westpac and St.George, leading the St.George Human Resources team during this instrumental time for the bank.
During his career he has led Human Resources for almost every division of the Westpac Group, and combines an in-depth understanding of the drivers of employee engagement with a focus on customer service to achieve business results.
Prior to his role as General Manager for the St.George Retail Bank, Ross was General Manager of Human Resources for the Group's major consumer and business brands - Westpac, St.George, Bank of Melbourne, BankSA and RAMS - encompassing 25,000 employees in Australia and New Zealand. It was in this role Ross was able to build capability, diversity and culture into Westpac’s brands differentiating Westpac Group as an Employer of Choice.
Ross is a fellow of the Australia Human Resources Institute and in 2012 was recognised by the organisation for his work in the industry, winning the Dave Ulrich HR Leader Award.
In addition to his considerable Human Resources experience, Ross has commercial General Management experience across the retail and financial services industries in Australia and internationally.
Cathy Yuncken was appointed to the role of General Manager for St.George Business Banking in October 2015. Cathy joined Westpac Group in late 2014 as the State General Manager, Westpac Commercial Banking for NSW and ACT.
Cathy has over 25 years’ experience in corporate, investment and commercial banking, which includes diverse financing, capital markets, advisory, and strategic leadership experience.
Prior to joining Westpac, Cathy’s career has spanned across corporate, investment and commercial banking including senior roles at Bank of America; GE Capital; and Barclays Capital, where she led the Corporate Investment Banking Team (Australia and New Zealand) and Commonwealth Bank, where she led the Institutional Bank's global team of relationship bankers.
Cathy holds Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing) and Bachelor of Law degrees from the University of NSW. She is a Graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and in 2014 completed an Executive Certificate in Strategy and Innovation at MIT Sloan in Boston. She is a committed mentor of high potential young women and maintains an active involvement with several Not-for-Profit organisations, including the Belvoir Street Theatre in Sydney. She was formerly a non-executive director of Fitted for Work.
