The St.George Kick Start program exists to help Australian small businesses get started. Whether you have a big idea or an existing business – if you have a great idea you can apply for the program!
You can apply for one of two categories:
1. A new business idea, or
2. An idea to grow an existing business.
The Top 12 ﬁnalists pitch to win at TEDxSydney 2020 in front of a live audience and a panel of judges.
To apply you must be:
An Australian resident
Over 18 years of age
Your application will be judged by an independent judging panel from Deloitte who will determine the top 12 finalists. The Top 12 finalists will pitch to win at TEDxSydney in front of a live audience and a panel of judges. The Top 2 winners and top 2 runner up winners will be announced at TEDxSydney and awarded with $40,000 (winners) and $10,000 (runner up).

Kick Start nomination competition
Promotion opens 9am on 3.2.20 and closes 11.59pm on 23.3.20. Entry is open to all Australian residents aged 18 years and older. In order to be considered an “Eligible Entrant”, the nominators can enter the competition by encouraging an applicant to apply directly at https://www.stgeorge.com.au/business/kickstart. The applicant must note in the relevant space on the application form that they became aware of the Program from the nominator. Once the St.George Kick Start Program applications are assessed and a short list of twelve applicants are selected to attend the St.George Kick Start Pitch at the TEDx Conference, all nominators of those shortlisted businesses will be entered into the Draw. Note – the applicants must note the nominators Entrant) in their application form for the Entry to be valid. The Prize consists of Entry for one person to attend the St.George Kick Start TEDxSydney on 22 May 2020 at the International Convention Centre Sydney. •The Prize includes one night’s accommodation at a 5 star hotel. •All meals for one person. Meals must be taken at the hotel where accommodation is being supplied, and will include one alcoholic beverage only per evening meal, with unlimited non-alcoholic beverages. •For interstate winners the prize will also include return economy airfare from the winner’s closest capital city to Sydney, arriving 21.5.20 and departing 22.5.20. •The Prize is valued at up to $5,000. Westpac Group staff entrants – In the event the Winner is a Westpac staff member, they must have their immediate Manager’s approval to participate in the Prize, and to be absent from their role for three days.
