BPAY® is a national electronic bill payment service, jointly developed by Australia's leading financial institutions. If your bill displays the BPAY® logo, you can use BPAY® to pay it through St.George Internet or Phone Banking.
There is no set-up required. Once you are registered for Internet Banking, BPAY® is ready to use. Simply check that the BPAY® logo is displayed on your bill, note the Biller Code, Customer Reference Number and amount you need to pay, and then follow the step-by-step instructions provided.
To make things easier, Internet Banking can remember each biller you pay and store your favourite billers. Using Internet Banking, you can pay your bills straightaway or schedule for them to be paid later. You can even set up regular payments daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly for up to 24 months in advance. You’ll get a receipt each time you make a payment..
Over 13,000 bills accept BPAY®, including phone bills, utilities, credit cards and much more. Look for the distinctive BPAY® logo in the payment section of your bill, or visit the BPAY website for a complete list of BPAY® billers
Each biller sets individual minimum and maximum transaction limits, these may be higher or lower than the limits we impose. We set a maximum daily limit of $100,000 per day, however, to ensure Internet and Phone Banking remains safe and secure, we have increased security measures for funds transferred to selected billers for payments such as credit cards or TAB accounts. Payments to these billers have a reduced limit of $15,000.
If you are unsure of a biller’s limits please feel free to contact us on 1300 555 203.
Cut off time is 5.30pm (AEST), 7 days a week. If you instruct us to make a BPAY®payment before the time specified, it will in most cases be treated as having been made on the same day. However, if you instruct us to make a BPAY® payment on a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday, or if another participant in the BPAY® Scheme does not process a BPAY® payment as soon as they receive the details, the payment may take longer to be credited to the biller.
BPAY® payments require additional processing times due to the processes involved. Regardless of whether the payment is made to a St.George account or to another financial institution, we require at least one day to process our side of the transaction.
While we endeavour to process all transactions in a timely manner, St.George cannot control when a participant in the BPAY® Scheme processes their side of the transfer or payment. Therefore please allow up to two business days for your payment or transfer to be processed.
Once a transfer has been confirmed via Internet Banking, we are unable to cancel payment.
If you have made a payment incorrectly, please contact our Internet Banking Helpdesk on1300 555 203 (+61 2 9845 4160 overseas) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There are two procedures that can be initiated:
1. Recall – A recall will endeavour to retrieve the funds from the credited account. 2. Trace – A trace will locate the destination of the funds.
A number of billers do not accept payment from credit card accounts. However, this varies and is at the discretion of the biller providing the bill.
To find the payment options offered by a specific biller, visit the BPAY website and type in the biller name. Some billers may charge a surcharge for payments made from a credit card account. Again, this is at the discretion of the biller, and the surcharge is usually added to the next bill.
No. You don't have to delete and recreate the biller each time you want to make a payment. If you have a Customer Reference Number (CRN) that changes with each bill issued, you can still save the BPAY® biller to your favourites. The next time you make a payment to that particular biller, you’ll be able to enter in the new CRN

You can BPAY® a cumulative daily limit of $100,000 to BPAY billers. However, a $15,000 maximum daily limit applies to certain billers. Also, each biller sets individual minimum and maximum transaction limits, which may be higher or lower than the limits we impose.
To register for BPAY® View, refer to your paper bill for some details including your billing account number, which the biller needs to identify you. It will take up to two working days for the biller to process your request. Once the biller accepts your registration, we’ll notify you when you log on to Internet Banking. After your registration is approved, you’ll start receiving your bills via Internet Banking at the next billing cycle. You can register for BPAY® View via Internet Banking from the 'Transfers, payments & BPAY' menu.
First, check that you’ve entered the required details exactly as they appear on your paper bill. For information on why a biller has denied your registration request, you will need to follow up directly with the biller.
Hundreds of bills are available through BPAY® View. Check if the biller offers BPAY® View by looking for the words BPAY® View in the payment option section on your paper bill, or visit the BPAY® web site for a complete list of BPAY® View billers.

This will display a list of all your saved billers. Select the BPAY biller name that you wish to delete and click ‘Delete’ on the top right hand corner & confirm.
